This just in from Their Majesties - THL Gwenhwyfar has been chosen as one of three Meridians to participate in the Inter-Kingdom A&S Competition at Gulf Wars. Her entry will be to construct her Roman kitchen at Bede Hall and cook.

This is an incredible honor. Gwenhwyfar won second place at Mid-winter A&S this past weekend. Her submission was of such high quality that the Order of the Laurel recommended her to Their Majesties. Their Majesties agreed, and extended her the invitation to represent our Kingdom. This competition draws participants from all over the country.

Lets all support Gwenhwyfar's efforts with congratulations and words of encouragement. She also needs help getting the kitchen moved from the end of the world to Bede hall!

Shield of the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA)

TO ALL THAT DISCOVERS THESE PAGES, GREETINGS! Good and noble visitors (aka Gentles), you have found yourselves at the gates of the Shire of Phoenix Glade (Okaloosa County Florida). We proudly serve the Crown of the Kingdom of Meridies.

     Who Are We? We are a branch of the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA). The SCA is an international organization dedicated to researching and re-creating the arts and skills of pre-17th-century Europe. Our "Known World" consists of 19 kingdoms, with over 30,000 members residing in countries around the world. Members, dressed in clothing of the Middle Ages and Renaissance, attend events which feature tournaments, royal courts, feasts, dancing, various classes & workshops, and more.
     The SCA encourages participation but it isn't a requirement. We learn about the Middle Ages by attempting to re-create the best aspects of the era, and without the fleas and plagues, and with indoor plumbing. Membership (On-Line or Mail in ) is affordable but also not a requirement.
     On the pages within, you will find more in-depth information about this exciting and wonderful organization. Are you a spectator, or a fighter, even perhaps a seamtress. Maybe you want to make leather goods or brew mead (honey wine)/beer.
